Melbourne City FC has locked in its E-League duo for the upcoming Esports season.
Marcus Gomes – who first joined City in 2017 – will again return to lead the team, following last season’s fifth placed finish.
Gomes continues his strong performances on the international stage, ranked 11th globally on XBOX on FIFA 19 and has started his FIFA21 FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) campaign strongly. The Melbourne-based player has been one of the league’s most formidable figures, finishing as a runner up in the 2019 edition of the E-League, and will look to lift the E-League trophy and represent City globally in 2021.

He will be joined by 18-year-old Brisbane-based FIFA Esports player Mike Jameson who will compete in his first E-League season.
Jameson only began playing FIFA competitively in September 2019, but quickly became one of the most revered players in the Oceania region.
He qualified for the FIFA 20 Global Series event in Paris before the season was halted due to COVID-19 and Jamieson is an outstanding prospect who is tipped to continue his swift rise to the top in this E-League season. The two will represent Melbourne City together for the first time during the FIFA eClub World Cup qualifiers in December. Gomes and Jameson will need to navigate the Oceania region to secure qualification to one of the world’s biggest FIFA Competitions.
