Central Coast Mariners have made a real statement of intent, handing exciting young talent Haine Eames a new four-year contract.
Eames is heading into his third season with the club, after debuting in 2024 at just 16-years-old under former Mariners boss Mark Jackson, in a season where the club went on to win the AFC Cup and Isuzu UTE A-League Premiership/Championship double.
Establishing himself as one of the most promising young players in the country, Eames broke a number of records during that debut campaign, one of which saw him become the youngest player, starter and goalscorer in the Isuzu UT A-League for the club.

A regular Australian youth international, Eames has so far made 42 appearances for the club and has attracted plenty of interest from overseas clubs but will now be staying on Gosford and will no doubt be a key player for newly appointed Head Coach, John Hutchinson.
“I’m happy to be staying with the Mariners. It’s a great club to play for, I love all the fans and I love everything about this club.” Eames said.
“The first two years have been amazing, I’ve been given the chance to play at such a young age.
“The records that I’ve broken just come with being able to play at this young age. I’m really grateful to the club for all the opportunities.Â
“This season, hopefully as a team we can accomplish something together. We are not going into the league just to participate, we are going to give it our best shot and try to win the league.

“Indivdually, I am just going to build on the last two years and have an even better season.”
Sporting Director Matt Simon added:
“Haine is an exceptional young player and we are delighted to have re-signed him on a long-term contract.”
“What he’s achieved already at just 18 years of age is outstanding, and we firmly believe that there is even more to come from him.
“He represents everything we value at the Mariners. He’s humble, hardworking, committed to improving every day and embraces the responsibility that comes with representing this football club.

“To retain a player of Haine’s quality is a big statement and a key part of what we’re building. We want to create an environment where talented young footballers can develop, enjoy their football and help drive success for the Mariners.
“We’re excited to continue supporting Haine’s development over the coming years and can’t wait to see what he can achieve in Mariners colours.”
Eames’ new deal follows on from the re-signings of defensive duo Diesel Herrington and Storm Roux, who have both signed new deals with the club.
