Central Coast Mariners’ eye-catching pink strips helped the club raise $18,668 for the Cancer Council of Australia.
Central Coast Mariners have more than done their part for women-s cancer research raising $18,668 for the Cancer Council of Australia, largely thanks to auctioning off the unique pink strips they wore against Perth Glory in Round Two of Hyundai A-League action.
The most popular item proved to be gun goalkeeper Mat Ryan-s kit which went for $760, while local hero and potential Qantas Socceroos left-back Josh Rose-s kit complete with his boots went for $680.
The auction was just one of a number of great initiative clubs in the Hyundai A-League support, the total given to aid cancer research also included donations from fans at the Round Two match against the Glory which helped to top up the total donated.
