So far in season 2008/09 the Queensland Roar have a vastly superior record away from home, having won four matches away, but none at Suncorp Stadium. Never before in the Hyundai A-League has a team won greater than three more matches away than at home, and only once in the all-time history of Australian national league competitions has a team won more than four more matches away than at home – Marconi in 1989, who won 11 matches away compared to 5 matches at home in the old NSL.

2005/06
The Hyundai A-League saw its first ever hat-trick in Round 11 2005/06 – actually, a hat-trick of hat-tricks! Richard Johnson (Newcastle, W4-2 v New Zealand), Sasho Petrovski (Sydney, W5-1 v Central Coast) and Damian Mori (Perth, W4-2 v Adelaide) remarkably each notched three goals this round.
2006/07
One of the most frantic openings to a Hyundai A-League match occurred in Round 11 2006/07, with four goals (two from each team) scored in the first 11 minutes of the Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners match. The match ended 3-3, with a Danny Allsopp goal sealing a point for Melbourne in the last few minutes.
2007/08
Another spectacular Central Coast-Melbourne match highlighted Round 11 2007/08, with the major action happening this time in the final few minutes: what was a nil-all scoreline in the 77th minute ended 2-1, the Mariners coming from behind with two late freakish goals.
