Arsenal lost the 2018 FA Cup Final but are in sizzling form in the league in the current season, having won 11 of a possible 13 matches to sit just one point behind Manchester City, who have played one game more than them.

Arsenal last won the Women’s Super League in 2012.

Montemurro, who was born in Melbourne and played professionally for Treviso in Italy, managed a host of youth and senior teams in Australia before taking up a role with Melbourne Victory’s Westfield W-League team in the 2014/15 season.

He moved on to Melbourne City after that and led the club to back-to-back Championships.

Montemurro was working as an assistant coach to City’s men’s team before he was poached by Arsenal.
