James Troisi couldn’t be happier with his new life as a Red after his off-season move to Adelaide United from Melbourne Victory.
And it was up against his former side on Saturday night when Troisi was simply blown away by the style of football his new side played, as they sent Victory packing with a 3-1 win at Coopers Stadium.
“Obviously (it was) a massive occasion but that aside the football we played was ridiculous,” Troisi told FOX Sports post-match.
“It was 3-1 but it could’ve been a lot more.

“I am just pleased with the performance at home.
“Obviously, we put on a show, that is four (wins) in a row, and with the (FFA Cup Final) as well that is five in a row.
“We just want consistency and we’re doing that at the moment.”
Troisi enjoyed yet another stellar display since finding his feet at the Reds, having the equal-most touches of any player on the pitch (79) as he made Adelaide tick from midfield.
Troisi took much pleasure from continuing his fantastic run of form continued against the Victory; his former club who he was desperate to prove a point to on the night.
“It was disappointing (Troisi’s Victory departure) but that is nothing to do with the players,” Troisi said.
“It was the way the club dealt with it, it was extremely disappointing but that’s football – you move on.

“It’s given me the opportunity to come here, play at home and, as I said, I’m extremely happy with the way things are going.”
Troisi’s stellar form has been matched by that of his teammates who have quickly become one of the best teams in the Hyundai A-League.
Watching on with great pleasure as Adelaide played with style, speed and ruthless attacking edge, FOX Sports Analyst Robbie Slater couldn’t help but gawk at the scintillating form of the Reds throughout the opening stanza of the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League campaign.
“That performance tonight was full of energy and enthusiasm and with a large dose of quality,” Slater said.
“The way they moved the ball with speed, the way they zipped the ball into players particularly centrally.
“They don’t take that extra touch as other teams do, they seem to know when to play the ball.
“Their movement and rotation is first-class.”
The in-form Reds will play at home once again next weekend when they host Wellington Phoenix at Coopers Stadium on Sunday afternoon (6:00pm AEDT).
