The former Sydney FC young gun only signed with Brisbane 14 months ago as one of Australia-s brightest young prospects but found it hard to cement a regular place in the Roar starting eleven and will sign a two year deal with the option for a third season.
CS Vise, like Brisbane Roar, is owned by the Indonesian Bakrie Group and it-s this link that has proved crucial in Danning-s move overseas.
Executive Vice President and CEO Roberto Regis Milano was in Brisbane for the Roar-s final AFC Champions League fixture against Beijing Guoan and was impressed by Danning, who sparkled up front in the 1-1 draw.
“This is a great opportunity for Kofi,” said Brisbane Roar General Manager Sean Dobson.
“Beppe [Guiseppe Accardi], the Bakrie Group talent scout, has previously watched Kofi playing for the Qantas Olyroos and Qantas Young Socceroos and Roberto really liked what he saw in the Beijing game.
“They requested us to give Kofi a chance to play in Belgium and we didn-t want to stand in his way.”
Dobson passed on his best wishes to the 21-year-old on behalf of the entire Brisbane Roar club and said the move was just the start in the strengthening of the relationship between the Bakrie Group-owned clubs.
“We wish him all the best for his future,” he said.
“Kofi is not only a talented footballer but a great character and he-ll be missed around the club.”
