Sydney FC Head Coach Steve Corica said he was pleased with the Sky Blues’ performance against an Indian Football U23’s side at Macquarie University Sports Fields on Tuesday.
Adam le Fondre is up and running as a Sydney FC player after netting in the Sky Blues’ 3-0 friendly win over India U-23’s this afternoon.
Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque was also on the score sheet for Steve Corica’s side, while Trent Buhagiar continued his superb pre-season form with another goal.

It was a comfortable display for the Sky Blues, who dictated the play, as the entire squad got minutes into their legs with new boys Siem de Jong and le Fondre both impressing.
The former Bolton man said he was pleased to get off the mark in the harbour city.
“There were a couple of other chances which I could have done better with but I’m gaming up and looking forward to getting the season going,” he told Sydney FC’s official website.

“It was a good game. I can see the way we played today suited me really well, we created lots of chances, we got the fullbacks on the ball a lot and that allowed me to get in behind.
“We’ve got quality pocket players and we controlled the play, it was a real good game.
“The boys are really welcoming, it’s been a really easy transition from Bolton to here,” he continued.
“I’ve found my place to live and everything is going well and I’m hitting the ground running.”
Sky Blues boss Corica said the Sydney players displayed what they were working on in training and mentioned he was impressed by new boys de Jong and le Fondre in their first hitout for the club.
“It was a good hit-out today. It’s what we wanted, a good training game,” Corica said.
“They were compact which makes it difficult to breakdown but the boys did that and played well.
“There was a lot of good combinations and patterns we were working on which showed in the game so that was great.
“It was good competitive game that gave the new boys an opportunity to play with our boys for the first time which was pleasing,” he continued.
“[The new boys put in a] very good performance. Alfie scored which is good for a striker and with Siem you could see he’s a quality player. It’s now just making sure we get him on the ball and he knows what we want from him.
“It’s their first game, it’ll take time to have those combinations with them but they look very good.”
Sydney FC kick off their Hyundai A-League campaign away against Adelaide United on Friday 19 October at Coopers Stadium (kick off 7:50pm AEST).
