Japanese ace pens new Brisbane Roar deal after impressive debut campaign

Check out all the highlights from Round 16 in the Ninja A-League

Brisbane Roar midfielder Momo Haysahi has committed her future to the club, signing a one-year extension which will see her remain in Queensland until the end of the 2025-26 Ninja A-League season.

Joining the Roar from NPLW QLD side Gold Coast United during the off-season, Hayashi enjoyed a scintillating start to life in the Ninja A-League.

Bagging a double against Western Sydney Wanderers in Unite Round, the Japanese midfielder continued her good form with subsequent goals in wins over Newcastle Jets and Western United as Brisbane enjoyed a fine start to the season.

Hayashi’s fine form was cut short in January when she suffered an ankle injury against Adelaide United in Round 12 which has left her sidelined ever since.

However, despite her injury troubles the club had clearly seen enough from the first half of the season and has moved quickly to tie her down.

“I’m very excited to extend my contract,’ Hayashi said after the new deal was announced.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far, and I have confidence that I can play my style in this league.”

“I’m recovering from an injury at the moment, but I’m working hard to get back on the field! I can’t wait to play in front of our amazing fans!”

Whilst there’s no exact timeframe on her return the club has no doubt missed Hayashi’s presence in the middle of the park having picked up just one win from their subsequent four matches.
