Central Coast Mariners have confirmed Brazilian star Mikael Doka has left the club to join J2 League side Ventforet Kofu on loan.
Doka signed a new three-year contract in 2024 and has two years remaining on his current deal but the 25-year-old will now spend the remainder of the 2025 J2 League season in Kofu.
Initially joining the club in 2023 Doka proved to be a revelation on the Central Coast as he shone for Mark Jackson’s side in their treble-winning campaign in 2023-24.

Often deployed in a variety of positions including right-back, left-back and as an attacking midfielder, the 25-year-old quickly became a fan favourite in Gosford and was a key player for the Mariners as they won the Isuzu UTE A-League Premiership/Championship double.
The Santos academy product was named Player of the Tournament in the AFC Cup after helping the Mariners defeat Al Ahed 1-0 in the Final, securing the trophy which would see them complete an unprecedented treble and secure their spot in Australian Football History.
While it was a disappointing Isuzu UTE A-League season for the Mariners finishing the campaign in 10th, Doka took out the Mariners Medal at the club’s end of season awards night.
Now on his way to Japan, the Brazilian becomes the seventh player to have departed the club this off-season as head coach Jackson begins to shape what will be another new-look side ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Doka’s departure follows on from that of fan favourite Brian Kaltak, who left to join Perth Glory ,while striker Alou Kuol has joined former Marines boss Alen Stajcic at the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Furthermore, 2024-25 squad members Noah Smith, Will Wilson, Sasha Kuzevski and Jack Warshawsky have also left the club in search of more minutes elsewhere.
