Brisbane Roar are still searching for their second win of this Isuzu UTE A-League season after a 97th-minute equaliser from Kasey Bos saw Melbourne Victory snatch a point at Suncorp Stadium.

After carving out the best chances of the first-half, Brisbane duly got their reward in the 20th minute as Henry Hore smashed home a brilliant effort from inside the box which beat goalkeeper Mitch Langerak at his near post.

Brisbane had several good opportunities to put the game to bed with young forward Nathan Amanatidis missing two good chances to double the home side’s lead when one-on-one with the keeper.

Despite being a goal down, goalkeeper Matt Acton had little to do in a game where Melbourne Victory flattered to deceive and the home side should have made it 2-0 late in stoppage time as Sam Klein blazed his effort over the bar.

However, the away side snatched a point from the jaws of defeat in the seventh minute of stoppage time as defender Bos poked home a dramatic late equaliser.

The result leaves Brisbane Roar marooned at the bottom of the ladder and prevents them from securing what would have been a second win of the season.

As for Victory, Arthur Diles’ side remain fifth on the ladder after snatching a point thanks to Bos’ first Isuzu UTE A-League goal.

With little left to play for this season apart from pride the home side set about causing problems for a Victory team looking to move into third on the ladder.

Brisbane’s best chance of the opening stages fell to young forward Amanatidis who should have had his name on the scoresheet.

Timing his run to perfection, Amanatidis sprinted beyond the Victory high-line but having rounded keeper Langerak, his goal-bound shot lacked power and provided the retreating Josh Rawlins with the time he needed to clear the ball away with a last-ditch block.

However the home side were the thrusting force in the early stages of the contest and took a deserved lead in the 20th minute.

Released down the left, Hore carried the ball into the box and, after produced a series of quick-fire stepovers, lashed the ball beyond Langerak at his near post to make it 1-0.

In what had a been a lacklustre first-half from Victory, Greek striker Nikos Vergos stung the palms of goalkeeper Acton before the break in what was a rare foray forward for the visitors.

Leading at the break, Brisbane came out firing in the second half and will feel as though they should have made it 2-0 but Amanatidis was again guilty of wasting a good chance.

Battling hard inside his own half, Amanatidis broke through the Victory flanks and found himself one-on-one with Langerak once again but this time opted to shoot rather than round the keeper and he ultimately struck his effort straight at the advancing Socceroo.

To make matters worse, the youngster appeared to injure his hamstring in the process and was soon withdrawn due to the injury, capping off what had been an impressive display from the Sydney FC man even if he couldn’t open his Roar account.

Continuing to push for a second, Victory keeper Langerak was called into action to deny Sam Klein with a smart save as the Roar midfielder attempted to catch the keeper out at his near post.

Despite trailing, Victory showed very little going forward and instead it was the side sat dead last on the ladder who were looking the most likely to grab the game’s second goal.

Stringing a series of passes together in what was a scintillating move, substitute Ben Halloran saw his shot from outside the box deflected wide of the far post after Rawlins got his body in the way.

However the home side would be made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal as Bos popped up in the right place at the right time to toe home Victory’s last attack of the match to seal what looked to be an unlikely point.
