Key Teams to Watch in A-League Finals 2025
Auckland FC are in pursuit of an historic Premiership/Championship double in the club’s first season; having captured the interest of an incredible supporter base, the Black Knights will draw big crowds through their maximum of three Finals Series fixtures on the road to what they will hope will be a home Grand Final and a landmark Championship title.
Sixth-placed Adelaide only just snuck into the top six and their survival ensured the tenure of outgoing head coach and club legend Carl Veart rolls on for at least one more weekend.
Should Adelaide shock Western United on Friday night, Veart will oversee another two games in a Semi-Final battle against Auckland FC.
Western Sydney Wanderers, meanwhile, finished fourth off the back of a 12-game unbeaten streak heading into the Finals Series.
A win over Melbourne Victory on Saturday night would extend that streak to 13, and equal the club’s longest-ever unbeaten run. Alen Stajcic’s Wanderers are the form side of the competition and shape as a genuine dark horse for the title on current form.
