Macarthur Bulls captain Valere Germain has been issued with a Disciplinary Notice after he was cited by Football Australia’s Match Review Panel (MRP) following an incident in last week’s draw against Western United.
The MRP considered an incident involving Germain in or around the 96th minute of Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Western United in Round 18 of the Isuzu UTE A-League at Campbelltown Stadium.

In accordance with clause 11.1(c)(i) of the A-Leagues Disciplinary Regulations, the MRP has authority to identify Citation Incidents including incidents involving a player which in its opinion based upon Law 12 of the Laws of the Game should have been sanctioned with a direct Red Card and which escaped the Referees attention.

As a result, the MRP has issued the French star with a Disciplinary Notice to show cause why the offence of “Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures against a Match Official” should not be found to have been committed.
The MRP will reconvene on Tuesday afternoon to consider any submission received on behalf of Germain and to determine whether the former Monaco and Marseille forward committed an offence and, if so, the proposed sanction ahead of Sunday’s trip to Western Sydney Wanderers.
