Michelle Heyman scored a 46th-minute equaliser as Canberra United held Central Coast Mariners to a 1-1 draw in the Ninja A-League on Saturday.
The CommBank Matildas star and A-Leagues legend found the back of the net for the seventh time this season, cancelling out Jade Pennock’s 39th-minute opener at McKellar Park.

Canberra extended their unbeaten streak to four games as they moved into the top six, ahead of Western United on goal difference while staying within two points of fifth-placed Central Coast.
As for the Mariners, they extended their undefeated streak against Canberra to five matches.

Central Coast entered the matchup in the midst of a three-game winning streak versus Canberra and it was an evenly-contested first half at McKellar Park, where it took 31 minutes for game’s first shot on target to be recorded.
The deadlock was broken eight minutes later, however. A swift counter-attacking move resulted in Brooke Nunn teeing up fellow Englishwoman for the opener.
Central Coast’s lead was short-lived, though, as Heyman restored parity within a minute of the second half restarting. Maja Markovski picked out the Aussie icon, who finished expertly into the bottom corner.
