Football Australia has confirmed the Socceroos will play two international fixtures against five-time FIFA World Cup winners Brazil in September.
Both fixtures will take place in Queensland with the first game being played at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on Friday, September 25.
The second contest will then see both sides decamp to Brisbane to battle it out at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday, September 29.

The two teams have met 11 times since their first encounter in 1988, including nine ‘A’ internationals.
News of the glamour fixtures is an additional boost to Football Australia following on from the Socceroos’ progression through to the knockout stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tony Popovic’s side are currently preparing to face Egypt in the Round of 32, with the game taking place in Dallas on Saturday, July 4 4am (AEST)
“Brazil are a world-class football nation, and we look forward to facing them in Australia,” said Popovic.
“While my immediate focus remains firmly on our 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, I’m delighted that we are locking in fixtures of this caliber, because we want to consistently test ourselves against top-tier opposition moving forward.”

“The two friendlies, against Brazil, are a great opportunity to show the rest of the world what a passionate football nation we are and to give Australians the opportunity to see one of the best teams in the world compete against our best.”
Tickets go on presale from Wednesday 1 July and to the general public from 1pm on Thursday 2 July.
