Auckland FC and Sydney FC have booked their place in two mouth-watering Semi Finals as the final four are confirmed, and the road to the Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final is locked in.
Auckland FC defeated Melbourne City in an Elimination Final epic at Go Media Stadium on Saturday afternoon. In a tight contest, it was a match headlined by late drama before each break, with Guillermo May putting Auckland ahead in first half injury time, before City dramatically scored in the final minute of the match, through a Medin Memeti header, to send the game into extra time.

Both sides battled hard in the 30 minutes of extra time, with neither team able to find a breakthrough, to send the Elimination Final to penalties. Auckland FC held their nerve to win a pulsating shootout 7-6, to set up a Semi Final clash with Adelaide United next week. Auckland will host the first leg against the Reds on Saturday 9 May at Go Media Stadium, before Steve Corica’s men head to a packed Coopers Stadium for the return leg on Friday 15 May.
In the second Elimination Final, Sydney FC defeated Melbourne Victory in a tight Big Blue contest at AAMI Park. After a stalemate in the first half, substitute Patrick Wood broke the deadlock as he pounced on a Victory defensive error to send his side into the two-legged Semi Finals.
