Sydney FC forward Al Hassan Toure has made a strong start to life with the Sky Blues in the Isuzu UTE A-League. aleagues.com.au looks at the numbers behind his 2025-26 form.
Sydney FC made splash in the off-season, bringing in Peru international Piero Quispe and former LaLiga striker Victor Campuzano as statement signings but there is one recruit who slipped under the radar somewhat.

After three years abroad, the 25-year-old is back in the Isuzu UTE A-League and he is making a swift impact. He might just hold the key to unlocking the Sky Blues in 2025-26 after they missed the Finals Series last season.
Toure, in his own words, said it was “one of my best games ever”.
It was just the fourth time a Sky Blues player has scored three or more goals in an Isuzu UTE A-League away match after Adam Le Fondre (April 2022), Bobo (December 2017) and Sasho Petrovski (November 2005).

“It’s about always believing in yourself, it doesn’t matter if you miss a chance or have a bad game, next week you can go again and prove yourself,” Toure said afterwards.
“I try my best at training to finish everything I get, to have a good performance in training and prep my body well, recovery, everything. I think once you do all of that outside the pitch, when you come on the pitch, you have this self-belief, you have this confidence that your body is ready.

“Sometimes, people don’t do everything they need to do before the game and come into the game afraid that they’re not fit or lacking something. With me, this year especially, with the injuries I’ve had, I’ve taken care of my body this year with help from the staff and coaches and everyone in the club. I believe that I’m fit and ready to go.”
In a Sydney side boasting Quispe, Campuzano and English star Joe Lolley, Toure brings something different.

The eldest brother of CommBank Socceroos forward Mohamed Toure and Musa Toure – both on the books of Danish club Randers, Al Hassan is direct and more of a focal point as Campuzano can operate in behind, along with fellow recruit Quispe.
The proof is in the numbers.
Toure, who has three goals to his name from an expected goals (xG) ratio of 2, leads the league for shot-ending carries (six), goal-ending carries (two) and touches in the opposition box (22) – level with Auckland FC’s Jesse Randall.
No player has a better return of 1.44 goals per 90 minutes (minimum 100 minutes played this season). It is the same with goal-ending carries per 90 (0.96) and touches in the opposition box per 90 (10.53).
He is also second at Sydney FC for possession won in the final third, only behind Quispe.

“Al Hassan gives us a different dimension,” Talay said previously. “He’s got that strength, power and speed to break lines.
“He’s a top kid — works hard and does everything we ask of him.”
