Interim Central Coast Mariners head coach Warren Moon does not think Haine Eames suffered a serious injury against Sydney FC.
The highly-rated 17-year-old was surrounded by some teammates as he appeared to clutch his knee.

After the Round 2 loss to the Sky Blues that left Central Coast with three points from two fixtures, Moon was asked about the Mariners young gun.

“I don’t think it’s too serious based on the first assessment,” Moon told Network 10 post-game.
“But we will know more tomorrow and the next day.”
Eames burst onto the scene with the Mariners in 2024-25.
The teen was thrown into the deep end last term, playing 20 times for the club having been trust to perform by former Mariners boss Mark Jackson.
Contributing two goals and two assists throughout the course of the campaign, Eames also played a prominent role for the club as they juggled domestic commitments with their participation in the AFC Champions League Elite, where he went toe-to-toe with some of Asian football’s biggest club sides.
Furthermore, Eames also broke records galore last season for the club after becoming their youngest ever player and goalscorer, as well as also becoming the Mariners’ youngest ever captain after taking over the armband during their ACL Elite clash with Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale.
More recently, Eames was named in the Guardian’s ‘Next Generation 2025’ – an annual list highlighting 60 of the best young talents currently playing professional football around the world.
