City fire off 14 shots per game on average, while Sydney’s average is 10.5.
However, Sydney FC hit the target with 59% of their efforts, compared to 53% for Manchester City.
POSSESSION AND PASSING
Manchester City are the masters of keeping the ball; they average an incredible 72% possession in their games this season, compared to Sydney FC’s 52%.
Not surprisingly, they also play far more passes with 731 per game to Sydney FC’s 479.
The accuracy of City’s passing is phenomenal with 89% of their passes finding the target, while Sydney FC’s metric is a still credible 78%.
DEFENCE AND DISCIPLINE
Sydney FC attempt more tackles per game (19.6) than Manchester City (15.2%), which isn’t surprising given the possession stats.
However, City are slightly more successful, winning 70% of their tackles, compared to Sydney FC’s 63%.
City concede just 9 fouls per game, while Sydney FC give away 12 per outing.
But Sydney FC have picked up an average of just one booking per game, while City receive an average of 1.6 yellow cards per match.
