Newcastle Jets coach Scott Miller says his side can be satisfied with their efforts in frustrating a top four team for the second straight week.
The Jets fought to earn a 2-2 draw away to Brisbane Roar on Friday night as first-half goals from Mitch Cooper – withdrawn at half-time due to fitness concerns – and Milos Trifunovic captured a surprise first-half lead.

Despite Brisbane ultimately clawing back to draw, Miller said returning home with a point is “a superb way” to complete a tough two-week spell.
“To play Melbourne City and Brisbane in a fortnight and take four points it is, on reflection, very good,” Miller said.
“To be leading and then concede (and) to draw is also difficult to take but I think when we wake up tomorrow we’ll be very content with a point at this stage of this season.”
Newcastle next host ninth-placed Wellington Phoenix at Hunter Stadium in the first of three straight fixtures against their fellow bottom four sides.
Miller is keen to make the most of those opportunities as Jets seek to close the seven-point gap to the top six.
“We need to find that balance. That’s going to be vital for where we end up at the end of the season,” he said.
“Especially at home. We have to really focus on the home form and continue that along with last week.”
