Glory is making a huge push for a Hyundai A-League finals berth and Grant has been an unsung hero in their surge up the ladder.
The 22-year-old has become a key figure of Glory’s new-look and inexperienced backline, showing maturity beyond his years to marshal their defence.
With Dino Djulbic missing the majority of the season injured and established stars Michael Thwaite and Antony Golec leaving the club, Grant has stepped up with aplomb.
Born in Manchester, Grant moved to Perth as a youngster and was a product of the state’s famed ECU Joondalup football factory.
His talent was evident earlier which is why he has previously been on the books of English clubs Stoke City and Portsmouth.
But desperate for first-team opportunities, the former Australian U17 squad member returned to play in the A-League this season and hasn’t looked back.
The stats make for excellent reading.
In 12 appearances, Grant has made 48 clearances, won 90% of his tackles, won 14 aerial duels and made 301 passes.
He’s even chipped in with a maiden goal in the big win over Newcastle Jets in January.
