Round 6 action kicked off with Palm Beach Sharks hosting SWQ Thunder in a 5-0 thrashing of the Toowoomba outfit. The Thunder made the trek to the coast and were unable to put a dent in the Shark-s defence.

Daniel Dragicevic, Mitchell Robinson and Daniel Grzic all got on the scorers sheet for the Sharks while Chris Lucas added a brace to his season-s tally.

SWQ are yet to register a win and are on the bottom of the ladder while Palm Beach have elevated themselves up into second spot.

Harimau Muda ‘A- claimed the 3 points over Olympic in a 2-1 victory at Goodwin Park.

After a flowing start the Malaysian Under 23-s struck through Devandrn just 17 minutes in with an easy tap in at the back post.

Olympic restored parity from the spot on the stroke of halftime, only to have the Under 23-s strike again in stoppage time.

The second half was a tight affair with both teams squandering clear chances.

Matt Mundy saw red in the 55th minute for a second cautionable offence, and will be out for Olympic-s clash against his former A-League club-s youth side.

Northern Fury travelled down to Ipswich to take on Western Pride on Saturday night.

The Fury recorded their 3rd win of the season with a 2-1 defeat of the struggling Pride at Briggs Road Complex.

Braedyn Crowley scored both goals for the Fury which takes his season tally to eight, while Peter Drager got on the scoreboard for the Ipswich boys.

Drager was unable to double his haul, hitting the cross bar from the penalty spot just after Crowley recorded the winner.

The win catapults the Fury up into 3rd spot, ahead of their game against Harimau Muda ‘A- at home this week where they have the chance to go into first spot.

Moreton Bay Jets ended the Sunshine Coast Fire-s winning streak with a 4-2 win at Wolter Park.

The Jets were on fire from the first whistle with Matt Capelo hitting the back of the net after just 2 minutes.

The Jets dominated the opening stanza, yet the Fire managed to go into the break only one goal adrift.

The second half was a different story, with the Jets notching up another three goals in 20 minutes, which included another two goals for leading goal scorer Royce Brownlie.

The Fire restored some respectability through Needham and Nakamura.

The Jets are flying high going into their bye weekend in top spot while the Fire have dropped back into seventh ahead of their clash with Redlands at home.

FNQFC hosted Redlands United in a tight 2-2 draw on Saturday night.

It all seemed like smooth sailing for Redlands with Rhys Meredith and Elliot Ronto both scoring before the break.

The Heat fought back in the second half through midfielder Matt Murphy and captain Alex Smith to salvage a point.

The fast finishing Heat nearly stole the points at the death after a number of chances went begging.

Brisbane Strikers took the points against Brisbane City 3-0 in the local derby.

The Strikers bounced back after their 4 nil loss to the Fury, with a dominate display against their hometown rivals.

Scot Coulson, Matt Thurtell and Dan Partridge all beat the keeper with the Strikers going into the break 3-nil up.

The second half saw the Strikers maintain control til the final whistle.

The result sees City drop from first to fifth ahead of their clash with Western Pride.

Round 7 sees the top spot up for grabs due to Moreton Bay having the bye, Palm Beach, the Fury and Redlands are all poised to take the top spot, all on 10 points, separated by goal difference.
