Tune in to ABC1 each Sunday at 3pm nationally for LIVE* Westfield W-League action, this week featuring Brisbane Roar hosting Adelaide United (match kick-off at 2pm Brisbane time).
Historically this fixture has been a David & Goliath match-up with Brisbane winning six and drawing one of the seven encounters against Adelaide. The Roar are two-time Westfield W-League champions and United have held the wooden spoon for the past three seasons.
This term, however, the Lady Reds are shaping up as a very different proposition under new coach and former Hyundai A-League stalwart for Adelaide; Ross Aloisi. The side have a new-found steel and belief very much forged in mould of their coach. Gone are the hefty losses of seasons past, with Adelaide earning four points from their opening four matches, with two narrow losses.
The Roar are starting to hit their straps after a stunning 3-0 opening-day defeat against Canberra United in their only home game thus far. Since then they have claimed three impressive wins including reversing that loss against Canberra last weekend in a high-intensity contest to keep their hold on top spot.
Catch all the action Live* nationally at 3.00pm on ABC1, or catch up from Monday on ABC iView with a full replay at 3.30am on Thursday (*live in AEDT states).
ABC TV will cover the ‘match of the week- exclusively on ABC1 throughout the 14-week competition, including the Westfield W-League Finals Series.
