Brisbane Roar striker Besart Berisha is in doubt for their clash with Sydney FC due to an ongoing calf injury.
Brisbane Roar may get the returns they have been clamouring for this weekend with Thomas Broich and Henrique set to return to the field against Sydney FC, but have been dealt another cruel blow with Besart Berisha in serious doubt for the game.
Berisha, the A-League-s leading marksman with nine goals thus far this season has been hampered all week with a calf strain and will make a last ditch effort to prove his fitness today at training, but given Ange Postecoglu-s usually conservative approach to injuries, Berisha may not be risked.
If he is unable to play it would continue what has been a long period of frustration for the Albanian-born striker, who has not found the net since Broich got injured eight matches ago.
Surely Berisha and Brisbane Roar fans were looking forward to having the old combination back, but they may have to wait a little longer.
Even if Berisha doesn-t play thy may not get the full 90 minutes out of the returning Henrique either.
The Brazilian striker unsure if he will get a start even if Berisha is out injured.
“I am here to help my team-mates so I’m good to go, if they need me for the start I will be there to help, Henrique said.
“We’re a very strong team,” he said. “We showed this 18 months ago. This is a (challenging) moment but the moments will pass and the good moments will come.”
