Hyundai A-League Grand Finalists Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United will put aside their on-field differences to help raise money for the Red Cross Bushfire Relief Fund through a unique online charity auction.
In the lead-up to Saturday-s Hyundai A-League Grand Final, presented by FOXTEL at Telstra Dome, Football Federation Australia (FFA) will open an eBay auction of a Foosball table signed by the entire squad from both teams.
FFA, who have already donated $100,000 toward the relief fund along with other with other measures, said the players wanted to lend their support to those affected by the disaster.
“With football finals fever upon us, the signed foosball table is certain to become a collector-s item and a great piece of football memorabilia,” said FFA CEO, Ben Buckley.
“We hope that by auctioning the table on eBay, we can generate even more funds for the Bushfire Relief Fund to help ensure that people get the help and support they need,” Buckley said.
The auction will be promoted on the big screens during the Hyundai A-League Grand Final and during Grand Final Week activities.
The auction opens today (23 February) at 6.00pm AEDT and closes Monday 2 March, 6.00pm AEDT.

Melbourne Victory players will sign the table and hold a “practice foosball match” on Monday 23 February, 12 noon at Hisense Area, Olympic Boulevard – internal foyer (entry via eastern side).
Adelaide United players will sign the table on arrival in Melbourne later this week.
