Melbourne City took Central Coast Mariners to task on Friday night, but how will Newcastle Jets fare this Monday evening?
City cruised past Mariners 4-2 to tighten their grip on second spot on the Hyundai A-League ladder with Jamie Maclaren notching a hat-trick for Erick Mombaerts’ side.
Newcastle Jets, meanwhile, lost for the first time under new boss Carl Robinson by going down 1-0 to Brisbane Roar.
That defeat all but ended the Hunter Valley club’s hopes of mounting a late dash for the top six, but with the Jets returning back home they will be eager to put on a good showing against one of the big boys.
