The APL today announced that following a pitch inspection at 3:00pm, the A-League 2020/21 fixture between Macarthur FC and Western United FC will proceed as scheduled at Campbelltown Stadium.
APL Commissioner Greg O’Rourke, who attended both Sydney pitch inspections today, noted the difference between them was the drainage system at Campbelltown Stadium.
“With over 60mm of rainfall in the area over the past 12 hours ,the drainage system in place at Campbelltown Stadium has cleared the field of any surface water and, whilst the rain will continue to fall, the pitch is in such a condition that the match between Macarthur FC and Western United FC can go ahead”, concluded O’Rourke.
