FC Utrecht winger Michael Zullo could be headed back to the Hyundai A-League to link up with Adelaide United as a replacement for fellow Socceroo Dario Vidosic.
Zullo has been linked with a move home after not playing a part in Utrecht-s opening four matches of the season.
The club had an option in their favour to extend Zullo-s contract at the end of last season and did so for another two years but are now not expected to stand in his way if he and Adelaide can reach an agreement.
With a lack of first team football in Holland, a move home could see the 24-year-old get the time on the pitch he needs to impress national coaches in the lead up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Earlier in the week Zullo admitted that he was not expecting to get a call-up to Holger Osieck-s squad for the Socceroos friendly against Brazil next month after his club side had chosen not to play him.
Before heading to the Dutch Erevidisie Zullo played three seasons at the Brisbane Roar.
