Hyundai A-League runners-up Perth Glory have signed midfielders Chris Harold and Adrian Zahra to boost their stocks ahead of the 2012-13 season.
Harold, 19, heads back to Western Australia having donned the now defunct Gold Coast United shirt last season, while Zahra is a former Melbourne Heart product.
The signings come after Glory off-loaded four from their squad last week, including Brazilian attacker Andrezinho, and manager Ian Ferguson said the pair would be valuable quick options to try and help Perth go one better next season.
“We identified that we needed to inject some youth and speed into our squad and both players fit the bill,” Ferguson said.
“Chris Harold is a young West Australian who can play a variety of positions in midfield and out wide and we are delighted to have him on board.
“It’s also great to add Adrian. We watched quite a lot of him this season as he recovered from a broken leg.
“In one of the games he actually scored against our Youth team and all the reports are very positive.”
Harold made 25 appearances for the Gold Coast in his two seasons at Skilled Park, while Zahra made 19 appearances for Heart.
Glory have also welcomed back former midfielder Nick Ward, who has been playing with Melbourne Victory and Wellington since leaving Perth in 2006.
