Ben Kantarovski returned to Newcastle Jets training today, fresh from leading the Young Socceroos during the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Despite being a little jet lagged, Ben is excited to be home and looking forward to settling back into his Jets- duties.

“I am fully back to training on Monday and it will be good to get back out there with my teammates,” Kantarovski said.

The Young Socceroos were knocked out of the World Cup last week after being defeated 5-1 by Spain.

“It was an incredible experience to play for my county, the atmosphere of the World Cup was amazing,” he added.

“We tried to do out best but it didn-t pan out and we were unable to show our full worth on the field.

“It was learning curve for us as players and that is the experience we will gather from our time away.”

Ben-s journey as a Young Socceroo began with a two-week pre-tournament camp in Denver, Colorado before the team moved to Colombia for the first phase of the tournament.

“It was a good base training camp, the altitude training was difficult but it worked our fitness very hard,” Kantarovski said.

“Our fitness was tested, going from a base training to some really intense games against the world-s best.”

Ben is looking forward to bringing everything he has learned during his time overseas, back to Newcastle.
