Like Central Coast Mariners, there’s so much to like about Daniel De Silva.
He may be small in stature (around 5 feet 7′) but he’s big on skill and vision.
The Perth-born playmaker has returned to the A-League after a rollercoaster stint in Europe and has immediately caught the eye.
As we all knew he would.
In each game for the Mariners this season, the pint-sized De Silva has been the pivotal player through which the Mariners creative outlets have played.
And he hasn’t let the physical stuff put him off his game. He’s been a joy to watch.
The former Young Socceroo has been electric for Paul Okon’s side, showing why he was so highly rated when he left Perth Glory for a European adventure in 2015.
De Silva’s goal against Wanderers in Round 2 was absolutely world class and won the www.a-league.com.au goal of the round.
He began the move, set up the attack then finished with aplomb. A superb goal in any league around the world.
He’s only 20 but it seems he’s been around forever. De Silva signed for Glory in 2013 after having been coached by Kenny Lowe at youth and junior level.
He played over 30 times for Glory before leaving to join an Italian club and then be loaned out to Roda JC in Holland.
Now he looks like he’s found his feet on the Central Coast.
