Perth Glory v Brisbane Roar
Saturday 19 November 2011
6PR Stadium, Perth
Local kick-off: 4pm
Brisbane face their second testing road trip in as many weeks following last Saturday-s hard-fought win in Adelaide. Perth, conversely, enjoyed a weekend off having secured their maiden win in the previous round. The pair are only separated by a single point on the table leaving reigning champions Roar with little scope for error on their visit to the west.
The Glory have this week been boosted a third well-credentialed international import following the arrival of Norway midfielder Lisa-Marie Woods, who is set to line-up alongside New Zealander Emma Kete and English defender Katie Holtham. Woods is a 27-year-old attacking midfielder who was originally named in Norway-s 2011 FIFA Women-s World Cup squad only for injury to force her withdrawal.
The Roar too have cavalry on the way with Matildas pair Kim Carroll and Aivi Luik expected to return from their club commitments in Denmark; the latter a team-mate of Woods at Fortuna Hjorring. However, reigning Australian women-s player of the year Elise Kellond-Knights recently suffered a serious knee injury while also playing for Fortuna and will miss the entire Westfield W-League campaign. Goalkeeper Casey Dumont also returns after a one-week suspension as the Roar defence takes on a more familiar look.
