The Westfield W-League makes its first visit to the Sunshine Coast where home side Brisbane Roar will be confident of making short work of winless Adelaide United.
However, recent history indicates that this will not be a one-sided affair. The Roar battled to a somewhat lucky 2-1 win in Adelaide just four weeks ago with the Lady Reds only narrowly failing to collect at least a share of the spoils.
The Roar have little margin for error as the competition approaches the downhill run towards the semi-finals. Last weekend-s fortunate late equaliser for the Roar kept the champions in with a chance of hunting down leaders Canberra, and also second-placed Sydney, and with it a home finals match.
The Roar have suffered some squad upheaval during the course of the season due to injury and players returning from overseas, but now is the time to build momentum with the finals looming on the horizon.
Since Adelaide-s narrow loss to the Roar, the Lady Reds have suffered two heavy defeats conceding eight goals in the process. Last week Dave Edmondson-s charges had the weekend off and the chance to regroup. Now the young squad of predominantly South Australia-raised players face one of the toughest challengers on the Westfield W-League fixture list.
