Here are the top five facts you need to know about the Wanderers’ new marquee man…

♦ In 17 games for Real Betis last season, Cejudo passed at 78% accuracy, his highest percentage in six top-flight seasons in Spain.

♦ Cejudo scored against Real Madrid in round eight of the 2016/17 La Liga season. Unfortunately it was very much a consolation goal with Betis losing 6-1 to the Spanish giants.

♦ Cejudo played one season alongside Western Sydney’s other marquee player, Oriol Riera at Osasuna in 2013/14. Cejudo played 30 league games that season, and Riera 37, with the two playing a combined 1876 minutes together.

♦ Riera played 79 passes to Cejudo that season, with Cejudo finding Riera with a pass on just 28 occasions. However, Cejudo’s overall passing accuracy was 77% compared to Riera’s 68%.

♦ Cejudo shares a birthday with one of the Hyundai A-League’s greatest ever imports, Thomas Broich.  Both were born on January 29, with Cejudo three years younger.
