Westfield W-League set for synthetic match

The Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets will create history when they play the first ever Westfield W-League match on a synthetic football field this Saturday in Victoria.

Following a Football Federation Australia decision to move the two team-s Round 5 fixture, from Bob Jane Stadium (due to its poor playing surface) to the Veneto Club, means that Melbourne Victory will host the Westfield W-League-s first ever game on an artificial surface.

A FIFA approved product, the synthetic football field at Veneto Club uses innovative manufacturing methods to create a natural and realistic looking artificial grass surface that provides players the ability to play on a life-like and even field.

The Westfield W-League match between Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets kicks off at 2pm AEDT on Saturday, 31 October, at the Veneto Club in Bulleen, Victoria.
