Morgan Aquino’s 96th-minute save against Western Sydney Wanderers wrapped up all three points for Brisbane Roar along with Save of the Week honours for Round 8.
It was a memorable moment for Aquino, who single-handedly ensured Brisbane walked away with a 2-1 win over the Wanderers with a remarkable save to deny Leena Khamis in the sixth minute of added time.
Khamis was played in behind Brisbane’s defensive line and her first touch took Khamis eye-to-eye with Aquino. The Wanderers forward struck sweetly with the ball almost directly on the penalty spot but Aquino got down quickly to her right, collecting the ball with a strong glove and pushing it away from danger.
