Round 7 sees a number of key players return from injury and suspension with equal top goal scorer for Adelaide United, Sarah Scalzi returning as well as top goal-scorer for Newcastle Jets, Katie Gill and influential defender Thea Slatyer for Canberra United to name just a few.

Sixteen goals were scored in the four matches of Round 6 over the weekend, an average of four goals per game and a record high for a one Westfield W-League round so far. After Round 6 (24 matches), 78 goals have been scored in the Westfield W-League, an average of 3.25 goals per game for the season so far. This compares to an average of 2.87 goals per game (149 goals in 52 matches) in the Hyundai A-League so far this season, while the all-time average for the Hyundai A-League stands at 2.67 goals per game (860 goals in 322 matches).
