Westfield W-League Goal of Round 6 – Michelle Heyman

What a season it has been for Canberra United star Michelle Heyman, who takes out the Westfield W-League Goal of the Round for her superb strike against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Heyman sent the Green Machine on their way to an impressive 3-0 win over the Wanderers last Saturday by opening the scoring with a wonderful turn and hit that left goalkeeper Sarah Willacy with no chance.

The 61-times-capped Westfield Matilda added a second half an hour later by finishing off a sweeping team move and came close to sealing a remarkable first half hat-trick but Georgia Yeoman-Dale was ultimately credited with an own goal after the pair rose to meet Grace Maher’s cross at the back post.

Having come out of retirement to lead the line for Canberra this campaign, the two-time Westfield W-League Golden Boot winner now leads the scoring charts with six.

Canberra are second on the Westfield W-League ladder.
