Westfield W-League Goal of Round 14 – Teresa Polias, chosen by Heather Garriock

Sydney FC captain Teresa Polias was awarded Goal of Round 14 for her stunning free-kick against Melbourne Victory, earning the nod from former Westfield W-League player and coach Heather Garriock.

Poised on the tip of the 18-yard box, Polias found the top-left corner with a curling strike from the dead ball to give Sydney FC  a one-goal advantage over Victory on Wednesday night.

The goal helped Sydney on their way to securing the Premiers Plate, and Polias on her way to securing Goal of Round 14 honours.

“A difficult choice for Goal of the Round this week, but certainly have to give it to Sydney FC captain Teresa Polias,” Garriock said.

“Her free-kick to win them the Premiership, or contribute to the Premiership, was absolutely outstanding.

“Congratulations to Sydney FC, and congratulations to Teresa Polias.”
