Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final date confirmed in bumper April

  • Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final set for Sunday April 11

  • Semi Finals to be played on Easter weekend

  • Finals Series spots up for grabs ahead of exciting Westfield W-League final round

The Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series will be played over two weekends in April, headlined by the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final on Sunday 11 April, as the race for finals spots comes down to the wire.

The Westfield W-League Premiers Plate, plus the top four, remain wide open with more than half of the league in contention. Four of the last five clashes of the 2020/21 season will see a battle to make the Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series, with Brisbane Roar FC, Adelaide United, Canberra United and Melbourne Victory competing for the remaining 3 spots after Sydney FC confirmed their place in round 12.

The Westfield W-League 2021 Semi Finals will be played on the Easter weekend, Sunday 4 April and Monday 5 April, before the decider a week later. All games will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and ABC TV.

A record Westfield W-League record crowd of 5,159 fans attended Adelaide United’s home clash at Cooper’s Stadium on Sunday as excitement builds on the eve of finals.

“April’s Finals Series will be a glorious chance to celebrate the Westfield W-League and as we reach the crescendo of one of the most unusual seasons in competition’s history,” APL Commissioner Greg O’Rourke said.

“The fact that we’re approaching the finals series as scheduled, at the end of a high-quality and action-packed season, with perhaps the closest ever finish, is testament to the many members of the football family who have worked tirelessly to make this season a success against the unprecedented and extraordinary challenges created by COVID-19.

“Stars are born in finals, and a number of exciting players have emerged as stars of the future to put themselves in the Matildas frame ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Westfield Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson and his coaching staff will be watching the Westfield W-League’s incredible young talent closely.”
