Who could possibly predict the outcome of the Westfield W-League 2019 Grand Final after a season of endless twists and turns?
Well, some of the game’s most notable voices have unveiled their predictions about how Saturday afternoon’s big dance between Sydney FC and Perth Glory may unfurl.
There have been 39 goals scored in the Sky Blues’ last five home matches against the Western Australians, and with that in mind former Westfield Matildas defender Amy Duggan believes a goal fest is on the cards.
‘I WOULD GIVE IT ALL UP’: Kerr’s vow for Glory
“Predicting a winner is tough especially with Perth’s performance in the Semi-Final,” Duggan said.
“It’ll be tight but I think Sydney will get the win, though I believe Perth will find the back of the net – Rachel Hill combining with Sam Kerr yet again for the scoresheet.
“Caitlin Foord and Alanna Kennedy will have big roles for Sydney.”
Duggan also said whoever wins the battle between Kennedy and Kerr will end up winning the player of the match.
FOX SPORTS commentators Anna Harrington and Teo Pellizzeri have also offered their thoughts on Saturday afternoon’s clash.
Harrington believes Sydney FC will emerge with a 2-1 victory, with Rachel Hill netting the first goal and Foord claiming the player of the match.
Meanwhile, Pellizzeri says Sydney FC are set to suffocate Perth’s firepower in a 1-0 triumph, with defender Elizabeth Ralston gaining player of the match honours and Julia Vignes hitting the goal.
