Excitement is building with just 11 days until Western United FC’s first Hyundai A-League game, with the club announcing the appointment of a new CEO on Wednesday.
Chris Pehlivanis takes the reigns as the club’s CEO having previously worked as the Chief Financial Officer of AFL club Essendon.
He has also worked for Football Federation Australia (FFA) and Hyundai A-League clubs, helping to strengthen their financial performance.
Pehlivanis, who has played or officiated in football for the last 25 years, recently completed his Executive MBA at the University of New South Wales and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
“I am honoured to be part of the next stage of the organisation’s growth,” he told the club’s official website.

Pehlivanis officially begins his role on Friday.

Meanwhile, tickets have now gone on sale for all of Western United FC’s home matches in their inaugural season.
Mark Rudan’s men will play 13 home games in the 2019/20 campaign, with nine of those at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong and four at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.
And the club is offering great deals for tickets, with a family ticket (two adults and two children) for just $44 for general admission, while children’s tickets are s little as $6, with adult (GA) only $20.
United play their first home game on Saturday, October 19, hosting defending Premiers Perth Glory at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong.
