Wellington Phoenix come into their clash with Central Coast Mariners as one of the form sides of the Hyundai A-League.
The Phoenix are sixth on the league table but do not let that position fool you. They are unbeaten in seven and just produced one of their most impressive displays of the season in a 3-1 win against Western United on the road in Round 12.
Central Coast meanwhile come into the clash having experienced a turnaround in their form of late.
A win over Adelaide United in Round 12 was the least the Mariners deserved after they put in a stellar performance against Sydney FC the week before but came away empty handed.
Alen Stajcic’s side sit in ninth position but have two games in hand on a number of teams above them on the table, including the Phoenix who sit five points above them. That makes this clash a perfect opportunity for Central Coast to chase down one of their rivals for a place in the top six.
