Wellington Phoenix star called up by world no.131

Wellington Phoenix defender Tiana Jaber has been called up by Lebanon for April’s international friendlies.

Jaber is in line to play her first home internationals this week after being named in the world number 131’s squad for a pair of matches against Comoros in Lebanon on April 5 and April 7.

The matches are part of Lebanon’s preparations for the 2026 Women’s AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, which are due to start in June.

Jaber made her senior debut for Lebanon at February’s four-nations tournament in Kathmandu.

The 24-year-old Phoenix star has been a mainstay this season, starting the first 19 games of 2024-25 before missing the Round 20 defeat to Central Coast Mariners through suspension though she returned for Sunday’s 1-0 loss to reigning premiers Melbourne City.
