Wellington Phoenix have partnered with Westpac Stadium and major sponsor Huawei to raise money for the victims and families of the tragedy in Christchurch last Friday.
Fifty people lost their lives in the attacks at two mosques in Christchurch, including a member of the football community in New Zealand Futsal goalkeeper Atta Elayyan.
The horrible events has seen the football community band together over the last few days, with wonderful tributes across all five Hyundai A-League matches over the weekend.
And the Phoenix – along with their principal partner Huawei as well as their home ground at Westpac Stadium – helped to raise money for the people affected by the tragedy.

Collections were held throughout Wellington’s clash with Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, which raised a total of $10,770.60.
Westpac Stadium donated $2000 to kick start the donations, while the Phoenix and their principal partner, Huawei, both pledged to match the cash donations dollar for dollar.
In total, $34,311.80 was raised for Victim Support New Zealand, who are on the ground in Christchurch assisting those most in need.
“We want to thank all of those who donated money and to our partners Huawei and Westpac Stadium who generously contributed,” the Phoenix said in a statement on the club’s official website.
“We are all thinking of those who have been lost and those who are left that mourn their passing. We stand together as a country.”
