Don’t miss the chance to catch top quality action at Aurora Stadium, Launceston, as the Hyundai A-League comes to Tasmania!

One of Australia’s finest ever players is heading to the Aurora Stadium on Wednesday night as Melbourne Victory take on Gold Coast United in one of five community matches to be played during the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season.

That’s right, Harry Kewell is coming to Tassie and he is bringing a host of phenomenally talented teammates and opponents with him, so make sure you are there to witness what is sure to be a cracking match!

Along with Kewell, Melbourne boast a collection of exciting players, including Archie Thompson and (depending on his recovery from a groin injury which kept him out of the defeat to Perth) Carlos Hernandez, all of whom will be looking to set the Aurora Stadium alight with their attacking finesse.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast have some gems of their own, including fantastic young prospect James Brown, who has netted some absolute belters this season. With so much talent on display, you’d be crazy to miss this battle for Hyundai A-League points.

And how both sides need a win. Victory are looking at getting themselves nicely nestled into the top six, while United are desperately trying to claw themselves from the foot of the ladder. Make no mistake, with plenty to play for, this will be an example of the kind of relentless excitement and commitment that the Hyundai A-League delivers week in, week out.

In the 13 clashes between the sides since United joined the Hyundai A-League, Victory have the upper hand, with six wins to the Gold Coast’s five, while the other two games ended in a stalemate. And if the entertainment that was on offer last time these sides met is anything to go by, Tasmania’s football fans are in for a treat.

At the end of November, ten-man Victory won 3-2 at AAMI Park in a thrilling encounter. The home side got off to the perfect start, with penalties from Harry Kewell and Carlos Hernandez sending them 2-0 up early on.

However, when Melbourne defender Rody Vargas was sent off on 33 minutes, United saw a way back into the game and levelled through Peter Jungschlager’s goal after Dylan Macallister had reduced the arrears before the break. While their numerical advantage perhaps should have allowed the away side to go on and win the match, it was Victory who grabbed the points and sent AAMI Park wild with Hernandez’s late header.

When Melbourne Victory visited Launceston for a pre-season friendly against champions Brisbane Roar, they returned home with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Hernandez and Danny Allsopp.

A similar outcome would do very nicely in this midweek match-up, so get your ticket today and prepare to give them some raucous vocal support support as they seek a much-needed win. It’s sure to be a great night and a wonderful occasion, so be a part of it, as outstanding Hyundai A-League action comes to town!
