Sing your Heart out as Morwell’s Latrobe City Stadium hosts top-notch Hyundai A-League action this Sunday!

If you’re part of the ever-growing army of Red & White fans, or just a football follower, then Morwell is where you should be heading this Sunday, as Latrobe City Stadium stages cracking Hyundai A-League action, with Melbourne Heart taking on Wellington Phoenix.

As part of Football Federation Australia-s pledge to connect with regional Australia, the match will give Gippsland-s football lovers the opportunity to experience the excitement of the beautiful game live.

If you haven’t seen them yet, John van ‘t Schip’s men are a fine team to watch this season. While they were defeated in Gosford on Saturday night, it wasn’t for a lack of commitment or quality.

In fact, after Matt Simon put the Mariners in front in first-half injury-time, Heart came out fighting in the second-half and were the better side for periods. Their equaliser in the 78th minute was fully-deserved and gave the suggestion that they would push on for a very impressive away win.

However, Mariners are a fine team on a good run and, with the home crowd behind them, grabbed a couple of late goals which sent home the visitors empty-handed.

The loss followed two straight wins for Heart though, and they will be looking to reprise the kind of performance they put in last time they were at home, when they smashed Newcastle Jets 3-0.

Phoenix make the journey to Victoria buoyed by a win last weekend at Westpac against Sydney FC which took their unbeaten run to three games. And what a goal it was that proved to be the decider!

With the score at 1-0 to the home side, Tim Brown hit an unbelievable looping volley from miles out which caught Liam Reddy napping and sent the Fever Zone crazy!

It is sure to be one of the goals of the season and followed another highlight for Wellington’s passionate support. If Paul Ifill’s first start since his injury was reason enough to get excited, then his early goal – a deft finish – had supporters in raptures. A late Sydney strike did little to dampen the celebratory mood in the stadium, and Phoenix will be looking to carry such positivity forth into this weekend’s clash.

Heart fans should beware, while Phoenix haven’t always been the best travellers, they played some of their best football of the season against Sydney, while their last away trip resulted in a fantastic draw against Brisbane Roar.

There is nothing to choose between these sides this season, so this will be a tight game indeed. However, with the full backing of a full Latrobe City Stadium, Heart have got what it takes to pick up three points that will send them up the ladder.

So, don’t miss this opportunity to show your support. Pull on your Red & White and get ready to show the rest of the country how passionate, committed and downright noisy you can be. Sing your Heart out!
