Can unbeaten Brisbane bounce back to winning ways? Get along to Suncorp and Roar them on to three points!
It’s time for Brisbane to find their swagger again! Roar may have made it an astonishing 33 games undefeated in Victoria last weekend, but they made hard work of it, so get along to Suncorp and help your side prove that last week’s disappointing draw was nothing more than a blip.

On the surface, a 2-2 draw against bogey side Melbourne seems a decent result, even if it meant an end to their winning start to the season.
However, the usual Brisbane magnificence wasn’t evident as, not only did they concede two in a game for the first time in the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season, but they subsequently were unable to win the match even though they were playing against nine men for almost an hour.
With Victory having goalkeeper Ante Covic sent off in the first minute and defender Matthew Foschini dismissed before half-time, Roar uncharacteristically failed to take the game by the scruff of the neck. Still, the draw served as a reality check for Brisbane’s fans.
For every 7-1 thumping, there will be a tough away trip like the one to Etihad, where opponents raise their games against the Champions. Still, if your reality check is a 2-2 draw in Melbourne, then things can’t be too bad, can they?
And there were plenty of plus points to take away from the stalemate. Henrique showed a cool head from the spot to give Roar a 1-0 lead, and, after they found themselves behind, they didn’t panic and always seemed likely to draw level. Thomas Broich’s goal came as no surprise.
While Wellington Phoenix will take heart from Brisbane’s slightly off-colour performance last week, they won’t be fancying a trip to Suncorp.
It’s a ground they’ve never won at. Indeed, the visitors have a wretched record against their hosts in general. Of their twelve meetings, they have won one and lost eight. On top of their poor head-to-head record, they hardly go into the game high on confidence, having lost their last three games in the 2011/12 season.
However, the Hyundai A-League constantly reminds us that anybody can beat anybody so, while an away win would be a shock, Roar shouldn’t take their visitors for granted. Phoenix are a talented bunch, they’ve already beaten second placed Newcastle this season, and are certain to give Brisbane a heck of a game.
After last week saw a Brisbane blip, can the Champions Roar again? Make it a scintillating Sunday at Suncorp Stadium by singing your side to three thrilling points.
Secure your ticket today and create the kind of atmosphere that will have Wellington shaking in their boots. It’s time to get back to winning ways, make some noise!
