Wednesday night preview: Brisbane Roar v Perth Glory – June 2

Perth Glory travel to Queensland with their season on the line ahead of a clash with Brisbane Roar at Moreton Daily Stadium on Tuesday night.

Perth have the chance to cash in on their game in hand in the final game of Matchweek 23. Richard Garcia’s side currently sit ninth on 33 points but can jump into seventh with a win, closing the gap to sixth-placed Brisbane Roar to just one point.

A draw would keep Perth mathematically in the hunt with one game to play, but a loss would wipe out the away side’s hopes of a top-six finish.

The Roar, meanwhile, have motivating factors of a different nature heading into the Wednesday-night fixture. Three teams placed seventh to tenth on the A-League table have Brisbane in their sights heading into the final Matchweek of the season, but Warren Moon’s team could eliminate both Perth and Western Sydney Wanderers from the Finals Series conversation with a three-point effort at Moreton Daily Stadium.

Perth are unbeaten in six games heading into their final two games of the campaign. An entertaining 2-2 draw against Wellington Phoenix last time out left the West Australian side with an uphill climb to reach the Finals Series by the end of the season, but beating Brisbane for the second time this season would reinvigorate their desperate last push.
