Former Hyundai A-League striker Brendon Santalab scored his first goals for Dandenong City in the NPL Victoria club’s 3-0 win over South Melbourne on Friday night.
On a night that also saw Carl Valeri make his club debut, Santalab opened his account with a header in first half stoppage time and sealed the victory with a clever backheel after James Kelly had earlier doubled the advantage.
The former Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers striker, 36, joined the Endeavour Hills-based outfit alongside ex-Melbourne Victory players Valeri and Adrian Leijer in May.

Dandenong had secured just eight points from 13 games prior to the arrival of the ex-Hyundai A-League trio but have tallied four in their last two without conceding following a 0-0 draw with leaders Avondale last week.
The night did have a sour note for Leijer, who left the field in the first half after copping a nasty gash to the face which required 23 stitches.
